It’s been a while since you’ve heard from the gentlemen of Slug. Don’t worry, we’re still alive and somehow surviving this very strange year, and we hope you are holding tough as well.
As we often do, we were sitting (socially-distanced natch) on the porch of our retirement home reminiscing about the “good old days” of the Los Angeles post-punk era, and it came to light that we recorded our album The 3 Man Themes during the month of August 1995. That makes August 2020 the 25th anniversary of Slug‘s final recording sessions. With that realization, we decided it was a good time to dust off the ol’ master tapes and celebrate.
Soon we will be re-issuing our two full length albums, The Out Sound and The 3 Man Themes in brand new digital editions. Both albums were remastered by our own Damion Romero from original tapes, and each will feature all new cover artwork by Fred Davis (renowned movie poster artist and creator of many Criterion Collection DVD/Blu-ray covers).
These new editions will be available exclusively on slug.bandcamp.com next Friday, August 7th, 2020. Check back a week from today for a whole new batch of old music for your enjoyment!
